Gas Transmission
Pipeline ExpansionIdaho, Washington, Oregon
ESA
Adolfson completed a feasibility study for a major pipeline expansion
project for PG&E National Energy Group in Idaho, Washington,
and Oregon. The project involved expansion of a 250-mile segment
of natural gas pipeline to accomplish pipeline looping. This project
also proposed upgrades to six compressor stations and mainline valve
stations. ESA Adolfson identified and mapped rare plants, wetlands,
streams, noxious weeds, and habitat types using hand-held Global
Positioning Systems (GPS). We prepared Geographical Information Systems
(GIS) maps in support of the project using GPS data and also prepared
technical sections of the Environmental Resource Reports for submittal
to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC). As part of environmental
permitting for the project, ESA Adolfson staff also negotiated preliminary
permit conditions with the US Army Corps of Engineers, Bureau of
Land Management, and US Forest Service on behalf of PG&E National
Energy Group.
