Brightwater Wastewater Treatment Facility

As part of a multi-disciplinary consultant team, ESA Adolfson led the environmental evaluations for the siting of a new regional wastewater treatment facility in South Snohomish County. ESA Adolfson staff conducted screening on more than 75 potential sites throughout the study area to document land use and environmental conditions. We led a team of more than 50 scientists, engineers, and planners in the preparation of an environmental impact statement on two final selected sites and associated conveyance routes and outfall locations. ESA Adolfson led a team of specialists preparing federal, state, and local permit applications in a multi-jurisdictional setting. Permitting agencies include the Corps of Engineers, Washington Departments of Ecology, Natural Resources, Fish and Wildlife, and Transportation, and several local jurisdictions. Permit acquisition has been proceeding successfully.
