Brightwater Wastewater Treatment Facility

King County, Washington

King County, Washington, studied more than 75 potential sites to document land use and environmental conditions for the Brightwater Wastewater Treatment Facility. As part of a multi-disciplinary consultant team, ESA led environmental evaluations for siting of the new regional facility. We led a team of more than 50 scientists, engineers, and planners in preparation of an environmental impact statement on two final selected sites and associated conveyance routes and outfall locations. ESA led preparation of permit applications, requiring coordination with the Corps of Engineers, Washington Departments of Ecology, Natural Resources, Fish and Wildlife, and Transportation, and several local jurisdictions.
