Mazama Pocket Gopher Management Plan

Thurston County, Washington

For a mixed-use development on a 17-acre site in Thurston County, ESA provided environmental services, including preparation of a Mazama pocket gopher habitat management plan to satisfy requirements of the County’s land-use approval process. The habitat management plan describes existing site conditions, habitat requirements of the Mazama pocket gopher, and management guidelines to minimize development impacts on pocket gopher habitat. ESA assisted the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife in trapping and relocating Mazama pocket gophers.
