Everett Riverfront Restoration
Everett, Washington
The City of Everett is redeveloping the 220+ acre Everett Riverfront District, including 120 acres of brownfield redevelopment of three formal mill sites and decommissioned municipal landfill. ESA leads a team supporting the City’s design and construction of a riverfront trail system, new waterfront park, and over 30 acres of floodplain, stream, and wetland enhancements.
ESA’s work involves restoration of over 50 acres of remnant floodplain wetlands through a combination of levee/dike removal or setbacks, habitat enhancements, and re-vegetation. The project also includes bank stabilization and shoreline restoration along approximately 3,800 feet of riverfront. In addition to restoration, ESA is preparing supplemental SEPA documentation and is the permit lead for all planned work.
