Jennifer Johnson, J.D. named ESA Northern California Energy Director
06.01.2011
Environmental Science Associates (ESA) announced that Jennifer Johnson has been promoted to the position of Northern California Energy Director. In 2009, Jennifer was named Director of ESA’s Bay Area Energy Group and has successfully broadened the firm’s services and capabilities in the alternative energy sector. With this recent promotion, Jennifer will continue to grow ESA’s energy practice throughout Northern California.
In her role as Director, Jennifer will oversee the group’s multidisciplinary team of scientists and planners as she broadens the geographical reach to serve clients in ESA’s Central Valley/Sierra region. The group will continue to build on ESA’s legacy of providing quality environmental documentation and compliance solutions for energy substations, electrical transmission and other linear facility projects.
Jennifer brings extensive experience providing ecological, land use, permitting, and planning support to multidisciplinary development projects and commercial enterprises. She has developed regulatory compliance documents to comply with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) coordinating with agencies such as the Bureau of Land Management, California Public Utilities Commission, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, California Department of Fish and Game, Regional Water Quality Control Board, California Coastal Commission, and the State Land Commission.
“Jennifer’s proven leadership and understanding of California’s energy market drivers make her a natural choice for leading our Northern California Energy solutions” says Doug Cover, ESA’s Energy Practice Leader. “She has demonstrated an exceptional ability to collaborate with clients to successfully navigate today’s environmental, regulatory, and funding challenges.”
