Erick Cooke Joins ESA’s Central Valley Water Team


Environmental Science Associates (ESA), a leading environmental consulting firm, is pleased to announce that Erick Cooke has joined our Sacramento office as a Senior Managing Associate in our Water Group.

Erick brings more than 14 years of professional experience managing environmental documents for flood protection and management, hydrology and water quality, and groundwater resources projects. He has prepared and managed NEPA and CEQA documents for levee, flood control, water supply, and other water resources related projects on behalf of clients including the California Department of Water Resources (DWR), U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, water agencies, reclamation districts, and other local and state agencies. He is experienced in monitoring and reporting on water quality, dredge material disposal, groundwater remediation, watershed modeling, and superfund sites.

Erick was a key team member on the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District CALFED Levee Stability Program and the Delta Islands and Levees Feasibility Study, providing project management and preparation of plan formulation documents. Erick worked closely with DWR on the Monterey Amendment to the State Water Project Contracts (including Kern Water Bank Transfer) and Associated Actions as Part of a Settlement Agreement (Monterey Plus EIR) for more than eight years as part of the project management team.

“Erick brings practical, on the ground experience with key Central Valley water clients such as the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers and the California Department of Water Resources and deepens our expertise preparing NEPA and CEQA documents for large-scale water projects,” said Cathy McEfee, Central Valley Water Group Director.

Erick holds a Master of Science in environmental, coastal, and ocean sciences from the University of Massachusetts in Boston and a Bachelor of Arts in biology from the University of Hawaii at Manoa.
